Mad for Mad Men?

Mad Men seems to be the hottest TV indulgence in some time.

My baby sis is crazy for the show as are most of my colleagues.  I'm afraid I'm not a fan...lived through it, never was happy with that kind of work/personal ethics or lack of and intrigue. Still, people are enjoying it and this makes for a wonderful opportunity to pull out some great 1960's vintage clothing for my booth.  I have a box of it and pulled out 5 pieces to get in my booth for this weekend.  For those looking for the perfect "Mad Men" Halloween costumes, then my booth will offer it.

The clothing is sexy, fun, feminine.  When women were first recognizing their physical strength in their sexuality during the 1960s. Rat pack music, sexual revolution, women in work places actually making decisions that were sound...much to the surprise of male colleagues.

Black is always so difficult to photograph, especially under fluorescent lighting so I have taken liberties with the contrast button to allow you to see some of the lace textures better.  The photos really do not do these pieces justice.

All lace piece over nude taffeta is a Lilli Diamond of California...hot, hot vintage label that often sells in boutiques for hundreds of dollars.  IN front of the Lilli Diamond dress is a Jean of California designed by Sydney North.  Smashing and sexy, this is a curvy dress that enhances your moneymakers.  Lovely neckline cut trimmed with brilliant hand set rhinestones, pencil skirt and v-bodice.   Can't forget the Vassarette of Hollywood Chantilly lace trimmed slip that would drape over your "bullet bra and panties".  All you really need is a dry martini and a hot board room and you are dressed for success.

Closer shot of the Jean of California dress. Smashing.

Sweet little baby doll mini dress is a black/red lace over black taffeta with kicky little bodice bow with rhinestone button.  Very wearable and adorable.  Next to that is a faboosh, silver lame brocade Japanese dress from the 1960s.  Very shape forming for those "Mata Hari" nights negotiating business.

Had to show off my little Mad Men sign and of course, you get a much better look at this shapely and very flattering neckline of the Jean of Cali dress.  Have a marvelous if not "mad" day all.  Sea Witch

Elegant vintage dresses - but back in the sixties we were wearing tie-dye... I love your new header, jellyfish are some of my favorite creatures.
