First real fall day

Wind is blowing through the trees and shaking leaves out of their branches.  Temperatures have dropped. Rolling gray clouds are moving across the sky and you can smell the precipitation in them.  You can't help but want to stand in the middle of all of this and feel the movement embrace you.  So empowering to be surrounding by this force of nature, yea today was the first "real" day of fall.

It's been a busy few weeks and I feel like I'm burning the proverbial candle at both ends. Just now catching up with my weekly post.  Halloween items are moving quickly.  If I had the time, I would love to have a year long Halloween booth and a year long Christmas booth.  Perhaps when I retire. LOL

Finds this past weekend were interesting.
This sweet little 1940s wall pocket was found at my local Goodwill for a few dollars.

Changed out the antique dress in the Victorian booth.  This is a 1920s wedding dress in a rich cocoa brown satin and its design shows the Egyptian influence that was so popular with the discovery of King Tut's tomb during that time period.

Another Goodwill find, this brown swirled enamel strainer with bale from the 1880s.  I found a couple of great antique pieces there, have to believe that somebody cleaned out a family collection and didn't know what they found.

Found at the same Goodwill, this lovely antique EAPG hair receiver with repousse brass cap.

Yup, found this piece at Goodwill too.  A lovely silverplated pen and ink stand.  Art Nouveau influence with pretty initials engraved in Spencerian script in the center.

Found this cutie at, you guessed it, Goodwill and it only set me back $6.00.  It's a pretty little thing and I found it just in time as I had sold both lamps that were in this booth last week.

Pretty vintage Fenton carnival glass candlestick is a lovely Autumn piece

Faust readers, I came across five antique illustrations from Goethe's Faust.  Perfect silhouettes for Halloween as Faust sells his soul to Mephistopheles

Lots of interesting items for Halloween are displayed on this marble table.

I added Martha Stewart's Halloween stick'em decals of
a crow in a branch on this antique mirror.

Sold a Victorian lamp so I brought this one in to replace it.  Added the vintage Fenton carnival glass candlestick and this terrific ladies spittoon.

Love this ladies spittoon in crackle carnival glass. Perfect color for fall decorating.

Picked up this pretty metal scroll work stool from my local goodwill for about $4.00.  It was green and ugly.  I repainted and recovered the cushion.

My little Victorian witch is back.  This pretty little Victorian child dressed up like a witch is always a seasonal favorite.

And my personal favorite.  A buxom Victorian beauty riding her broom.

We have had a lot of new dealers in at Queen of Hearts this month.  I will try and take photos of what they are offering for my next post.  Have a lovely week.
